Chalkboard Labels

Martha Stewart does it again. How is she so good?

My mom found these adorable scalloped chalkboard stickers and I broke them out the other day in the kitchen and now I don't know why it took me so long!

It was a simple pick me up that really ties things together in the kitchen! I'm now on the hunt for more things I can label such as baking supplies, spices, laundry detergent, my hubby...you know, things like that.

They are available at office supply stores like Staples and Office Depot, as well as Michael's.

I think they'd be a great gift for someone crafty, too!

Off to label more things...

I really love my...{hobo lauren wallet}

(see here for all the previous posts in the I really love my... series!)

I cannot believe that I have not expressed my utmost love blogged about this before!

To say that I really love my hobo lauren wallet is a complete understatement.

This wallet is durable, useful, long-lasting and holds every thing you could thing you need in your purse.

I have had mine, and used it daily, for 5 years and it is still in great shape! It holds all my cards (I join like every store rewards club possible), receipts, ID's, cash and coins. I don't carry my check book with me but you could definitely put it on one side!

Size wise, it's perfect to throw in my purse or grab it and use it as a clutch to run in the gas station or for a night out! It also comes in such yummy colors although I just have the plain versatile black.

They are available at Dillard's and other department stores and although it will cost you more than you would typically think to pay for a wallet- it's honestly worthy every penny! I've gifted and recommended this wallet to so many people and they all have LOVED it!

I love you, Hobo Lauren Wallet.

I really love my...{flat whisk}

(see here for all previous posts in the I really love my... series!)

I really love my Stainless Steel Flat Whisk!
This whisk is essential for me in the kitchen! Whether it's scrambled eggs, gravy or scraping up the yummy bits underneath a creamy soup, this whisk is where it's at.

It's flat head is slightly flexible which helps get into the corners of the pan and makes a smooth end result in your gravies or pan sauces! An added plus? Dishwasher safe! Perfect.

I have this one from Williams- Sonoma but they have other options there as well as some at Bed Bath and Beyond!

Whisk away!

I really love my...{knife holder}

(see here for all previous posts in the I really love my... series!)

I don't know if you heard, but we just moved. (Please note the sarcasm; we all know I can't stop talking about it.)

Anyways, when we moved out of our rental house, I didn't want to take my magnetic knife rack down from the wall because I knew the massive holes in the wall probably wouldn't go over too well with the landlord. So, instead, I chose to appear as the gracious ex-tenant and leave this on the wall. Saintly, I know.

Zwilling J.A. Henckels Magnetic Bracket

Now that we are in our new house (it's OUR house! Eeek!!) I have been looking for a new knife holder but really didn't have a place in our kitchen that I loved to hang a magnetic rack. When I was shopping at the Container Store the other day, I stumbled upon this gem and haven't looked back since!

It's a bamboo knife holder that fits in your drawer and safely holds all your knifes without dulling the blades.

The flexible cork-like material easily separates to accommodate multiple knifes of all different sizes.

Here it is in our drawer. This takes up half the drawer with lots of room on the side for other really important kitchen utensils. They also make a deluxe knife holder that is double this size if you're really a knife junkie or just love to have options when cutting your onions. To each his own, you know?

To say that I am pleased with this purchase would be an understatement!

You can get this little beaut online or in stores at The Container Store!

Off to stare at my cork and bamboo obsession,
Laura

The Best Bag Award

If I could give an award for the best purse ever, it would definitely go to Fossil's Modern Cargo Small Foldover.

My bestie and her mom both have this bag and when I was in the market for a new purse a few months ago, I decided to give this one a try after their raving reviews.

And they weren't lying. This purse is where it's at.

The inside pocket is large enough for my hobo wallet (coming soon on I really love my...), day planner (yes, I still carry a pen and paper calendar), check book, way too many lip products and more. There is a zippered inside pocket and two open pockets that fit my cell phone perfectly.

The outside has two snap closure pockets great for headphones and granola bars...which is exactly what I used mine for.

I love that it has a detachable cross body strap or small arm straps to switch it up for how you need to use it!

Did I  mention the great colors in comes in, too? More are available in Dillard's or Fossil stores.

The Laundry Method

I love laundry. I'm being serious. I really, really love doing laundry.

It's a task that can easily and quickly be completed from beginning to end.

And I love that.

I wanted to share my favorite laundry product with you, Method Laundry Detergent from Target.

Method is a plant-based detergent using 95% natural and renewable ingredients in an eco-friendly bottle. I like being able to use the same detergent for sheets, towels, delicates and our normal laundry.

And the best part is the pump top! It is super simple to pump 3-5 squirts, depending on the size load, into the washer and let it go!

To make things better, when you run out, you can buy a refill pack that pours right into your original bottle! So great for our Earth!

Saving our environment one load of laundry at a time,
Laura

Nut Organization

...what? I couldn't think of a better title so there you go.

In oatmeal, cookies, bread or even a mid-afternoon snack, I love to have fresh cashews, walnuts or other nuts on hand.

That can add up!

Nuts aren't cheap, let me tell ya. I like to buy them in bulk from the dispensers at the grocery store but, fun fact, nuts can go rancid (in other words- nasty and bad) pretty quickly. In fact, nuts only last one month at room temperature.

I can't remember where I read this tip but I've been using it ever since. I keep my nuts in a bag in the freezer (they can last up to a year there!) and within that bag are smaller bags separated by nut variety.

This is super handy, the nuts last longer and there is no need to thaw! Throw them right into batters, oatmeal or on a salad! How easy is that?

Rancid things are scary things,
Laura
