Must Have Maternity Clothes

Maternity clothes aren't cheap. And a lot of times they aren't cute, either.

I was so fortunate to borrow a lot of things from a sweet friend and my mom took me shopping near the beginning of my second trimester.

Here is what I found myself wearing more often than other clothes and are worth spending more money on! Obviously, everyone is comfortable in different things and this is just more advice that you can take or leave! Doesn't bother me.

From A Pea in the Pod
I had this shirt in white and black and I wore them all the time! They are super comfortable, long enough to last through your due date without showing your belly and durable. I found that most Gap maternity shirts didn't last me my entire pregnancy because of their length. My go-to outfits were one of these shirts, a cardigan (non-maternity! Use what you have!) and a scarf with jeans. I still felt somewhat fashionable and I wasn't spending an arm and a leg on an outfit because the shirt and pants were the only maternity items.

Short Sleeve Scoop Neck Maternity T Shirt

These are from A Pea in the Pod but I bought some from Target. Gap also has good options. These are great for running errands when your belly is so huge that anything tight is just not appealing. Also, you need a comfy pair of pants that fit well for lounging around the house or having people over for football or a movie. I also wore these to yoga class and the movie theater for absolute comfort! I will add that mine did not have a belly panel which was fine until about month 9 when my shirts weren't long enough and my pants were too short up top. Peek-a-boo, belly, nobody wants to see you.

With stretch. My mom got me these AG Jeans after we tried on LOTS of different brands and styles at A Pea in the Pod. These were the most comfortable for me. They have stretch, were a great length and had a full belly panel, which I liked. I really suggest that you go to a store and try on multiple styles and brands, too, and invest in a pair that make you feel good. It is worth every penny.

This is from Gap and is so comfortable! (Are you noticing a comfortable trend here?) It was perfect for sleeping, wearing under shirts, wearing while getting ready and lounging. This is a must have.

I mean, we all know how comfy regular leggings are and maternity leggings takes that to the next level. Throw it on with a dress, long sweater, etc. and you have comfort at its max. I loved these from A Pea in the Pod.
Secret Fit Belly(r) Jersey Knit Slim Leg Maternity Legging

Also from Gap and available in a long length. A great option for switching things up from shorts or pants and way more cozy. I wore this all the time and was able to make it casual for running errands or throw on a cute shirt, boots, cardigan and scarf for a more fashionable option.

Obviously this is only a small portion of your new wardrobe but these were things I turned to more frequently than others. Also, a plain black dress (great for adding fun jewelry, shoes, scarves, etc!) and pajama shorts were a must for this pregnant lady!

Shop around, Gap, Old Navy, H&M and Target all have reasonably priced, stylish options. And shop the sales! If you know you will be pregnant when the weather is warmer where you live, buy shorts on sale now! You will be so glad that you did.

I'm going to miss those expandable waisted pants...

Facebook Shopping

My name is Laura and I'm addicted to facebook shopping.
Have you joined this new trend? It's super addicting so I won't even recommend it so you can't blame me when you fall in love.

I have been facebook shopping for baby clothes, cute boutique dresses and tops and jewelry! Here's how it works. You go to the certain vendor's facebook page and "like" it. Then, each week (different nights for each seller!) they have an auction at a particular time. So, each Monday night at 8:00pm central time, they post photos of their jewelry (or clothes, etc.), the price and the quantity they have. Keep refreshing your facebook page to see more stylish goodies and if you see something you want to buy then you QUICKLY (serious on the quickly part) comment under the picture with your email address and the quantity you want. If you were one of the lucky ones that commented while they still had inventory left, you win! When you comment to purchase you can add OOT (out of Texas) if you, obviously, live out of Texas and there is no sales tax! They email you an invoice and shortly after that you check your mail like a crazy woman because you're so excited to get your goodies!

Like I said, there are multiple boutiques and vendors I follow but here are my two favorite jewelry vendors and some examples of their gorgeous pieces....

Accessory Auctions
Auctions every Monday at 8pm CST.

Auctions every Wednesday 8:00 pm CST
(They have new Towne & Reese Jewelry too! Which I love!)

Did I mention they are both super inexpensive? $10-$30 per piece, average!

Don't say I didn't warn you...

I really love my...{hobo lauren wallet}

(see here for all the previous posts in the I really love my... series!)

I cannot believe that I have not expressed my utmost love blogged about this before!

To say that I really love my hobo lauren wallet is a complete understatement.

This wallet is durable, useful, long-lasting and holds every thing you could thing you need in your purse.

via

I have had mine, and used it daily, for 5 years and it is still in great shape! It holds all my cards (I join like every store rewards club possible), receipts, ID's, cash and coins. I don't carry my check book with me but you could definitely put it on one side!

Size wise, it's perfect to throw in my purse or grab it and use it as a clutch to run in the gas station or for a night out! It also comes in such yummy colors although I just have the plain versatile black.

They are available at Dillard's and other department stores and although it will cost you more than you would typically think to pay for a wallet- it's honestly worthy every penny! I've gifted and recommended this wallet to so many people and they all have LOVED it!

I love you, Hobo Lauren Wallet.

Thunder Up!

Tonight, we are cheering on the OKC Thunder as they (hopefully) defeat the San Antonio Spurs and bring the series back to OKC to close!

Although I'm too far away in Colorado to go the games, here are some cute options for what I would wear if I could go...

The Best Bag Award

If I could give an award for the best purse ever, it would definitely go to Fossil's Modern Cargo Small Foldover.

My bestie and her mom both have this bag and when I was in the market for a new purse a few months ago, I decided to give this one a try after their raving reviews.

And they weren't lying. This purse is where it's at.

The inside pocket is large enough for my hobo wallet (coming soon on I really love my...), day planner (yes, I still carry a pen and paper calendar), check book, way too many lip products and more. There is a zippered inside pocket and two open pockets that fit my cell phone perfectly.

The outside has two snap closure pockets great for headphones and granola bars...which is exactly what I used mine for.

I love that it has a detachable cross body strap or small arm straps to switch it up for how you need to use it!

Did I  mention the great colors in comes in, too? More are available in Dillard's or Fossil stores.

Vegas Recap {Part 5}

Last day of the Vegas Recap!

Now the answer to the question you've all been wondering: what did you wear?!

I'm new at this whole blogging thing and am pretty horrible at taking pictures plus I just feel awkward taking solo shots in the mirror or whatnot. But, I do have some fashionable friends so here are a few snippets of what we wore...

Kelsey rocked this navy sequin skirt from Forever 21 with a black tank. Love the mix of sparkles and casual.

Sara put together this black scalloped skirt with a loose, sheer, orange top. All from Charlotte Russe.
Scalloped-Seam Mini Skirt
I paired this zippered skirt in pink with a black, cropped short sleeve top. All from H&M.

I love how fashionable yet affordable all these looks are!

Thanks for reliving my Vegas trip with me all week! Hope you enjoyed it!

What happens in Vegas, goes on the blog,
