I'm baaaaccckkkkk!

Y'all. I've been MIA for a while. I realize that. And, believe me, I have the most adorable, cuddly, precious, perfect excuse.

Meet Charlotte. She was born November 1, 2012 and she has made our lives fun, busy, sometimes overwhelming but always joyful.

I'm not going to sugarcoat it- babies are a LOT of work. I know, I know, you already knew that...well take your expectation of how much work they are and then multiply that by, oh about, 185%. Then add 10. Whew. So, long story short, that's why I've been gone.

I've had so many encouraging comments from some of you that I was missed. You have no idea how much that meant to me. This little ol' blog started as a creative outlet for me and it felt really great to know that other people enjoy yummy food, fun crafts and funny Friday jokes as much as I do.

I've had urges the last six months to blog again but they quickly are distracted with a dirty diaper, a baby smile or giggle and usually rarely with the desire obligation to take a shower. (Yikes.)

I've been waiting to blog again until I really missed it. And I do. I miss sharing with y'all. Gosh, that's a good feeling.

I can't promise that I will blog daily. And I can't promise that I will take lots of food pictures. And I might just link you straight to the recipe and use their pictures (giving them credit, of course).

But, I can promise that your kitchen will be full of yummy dinners and sugar filled desserts again. I can promise that you might be inspired to get crafting on a Saturday afternoon. I can promise that you will laugh at silly videos, most likely of Sophia Grace and Rosie. Those are good promises that I plan to keep.

I also promise this won't turn into an all baby, all the time blog. But I can't promise that sometimes a picture or video of our sweet girl won't turn up on here. Y'all, she's just so stinkin' cute!

So, in summary, thanks for waiting for me. It feels good to be back.

Get your spatulas ready for scrumptious recipes comin' at ya next week.

(So, the post ends here. But for a cute bonus, keep scrolling...)

A Monday List pt. 3

1. Is everyone else so ready for Fall? Not just for the temperatures but for Saturdays at home watching football, eating tons of yummy food and for pumpkin decor. I'm not as excited for Fall this year since all the cute Fall outfits I want to wear are just a wee bit too small right now. Sarcasm on the "wee".

2. I really love this platter from Etsy! What a cute gift for someone...or yourself!

3. Another pro for Fall? You can make tons of sweets and claim them as "football food". These Salted Nut Bars will definitely be pawned off as football food but really I just want to eat them.

4. Good news- Charlotte (the sweet thing making me eat ice cream, have back pain and buy every cute pink outfit I can) was breeched and at the doctor's appointment last week, I found out she had flipped! I guess a few times of lying upside down on a propped up ironing board with hot and cold presses on my stomach did the trick. Oh home remedies.

5. Colorado earned about 50 brownie points last week when I was in Oklahoma and the temperature was around 118 daily. Plus humidity. I had never been happier to NOT live there. And that says a lot because I love Oklahoma.

Thanks for reading the randomness!

Nightlight Wallflower

Have y'all seen these?

Sand Wallflowers® Fragrance Plugs - Slatkin & Co. - Bath & Body Works
Nightlight Wallflowers from Bath and Body Works!

My grandma brought me some and I love them. We all know that Bath and Body Works has the best smelling scent options (not to mention they have about 746 options...) and the nightlight is a bonus! Even better, the light turns off when you have the room light on and flips on once you turn off the lights in the room.

It's so smart.

Check them out in store or online here!

Bath and Body Works is so technologically advanced,

A Monday List

1. I can't express how glad I am that I got married before Pinterest was a hit. With things like this to inspire me, I would've gone DIY crazy.

I have to say, this is pretty cool

2. The other day my students asked me to put on some music while they were painting their spelling words. "Baby" by Justin Bieber was up on AOL Radio and it turned into a quiet chorus of singing and painting...including the breakdown by Ludacris. I'm in love with them.

3. We are under contract on a house! Woo hoo! First time home-buyers, here. Any advice? Best place you know to buy paint? Lighting? I'll take any advice you have.

4. When we moved from Dallas to Denver and left Yumi-Licious fro-yo behind, I took a break from the amazing treat. We reunited last week at Yogurt Land in Denver and I have a feeling it is all downhill from here. How is it so good?

5. In addition to the fro-yo reunion, I also baked these amazing chocolate chip cookies and chocolate cream cheese brownies last week. And went to the gym because of all my indulging. I should spread this out a little bit.

Enjoy your Monday.

Now I can't stop singing Bieber,
Laura
